Hunting the elusive OSUG and SSO

I’m on the prowl, searching for an Ottawa SharePoint User Group or a few people who would like to organize a SharePoint Saturday Ottawa.  Every other city seems to have one… My recent search efforts have come up with 404s or resulting in very stale content.

A SharePoint MVP from Montreal is willing to travel, to present and share some wisdom.  Surely we have some experienced professionals and speakers in Ottawa too?

For starters, I would prefer to see presentations targeted at business users and information workers.  I have attended user group meetings in the past that were too technical and made my eyes glaze over.

Please write or submit a comment if you are interested in attending a SharePoint Saturday Ottawa.

Thanks!

Meetup. You see, if you scratch and dig a little in the most obvious places, you’ll find a gem or two. http://www.meetup.com/Sharepoint-Ottawa/ First order of business (she says cattily) is to have them update the group name to reflect proper capitalization: i.e. SharePoint.

Microsoft (Ottawa) has a Federal SharePoint Users Group meeting on the last Tuesday of each month from 5 – 7pm (exluding July/August). You can sign-up for the meeting invitations by sending Dexter Bruce an email v-debruc AT microsoft.com

Yes, thanks. I attended a couple of the Federal group meetings a few years ago but found the presentations too advanced for the interests of an end user / business user.

I would encourage you to come back, I know the presentations I’ve given were more on the technical side but I would say the majority of the presentations are targetted toward end users and business users.

That’s good to hear, Wes. I’ll look into attending the next meeting, assuming it will be in September? Sure would help if the group had a findable web site.
