Welcoming Autumn

A nice breeze, a cool night for sleeping.  That describes relief for me.

This is the time of year to put away the sandals and capris.  Time to pull out the pants, sweaters and woolies. Instead of the flip-flop, flip-flop of busy feet we will soon hear the swish-swish of corduroy pants.

Time to be reacquainted with socks!

Time to enjoy those weekend cooking projects, preparing comfort foods and being more receptive to hugs.

Time to enjoy apple pie, apple crisp, apple cider… and to sip tea with friends, sharing accomplishments, frustrations and deep blonde thoughts.

Time to write in paper journals without your arm sticking to the table.

Time to sort through that reading pile and curl up with a good book.

Time to curl up, to enjoy a cat nap – prefurrably with a friend.

Welcome, autumn!
