If your summer hasn’t included enough outdoor time, you can still get out to Algonquin Park–by Parkbus.
With the Parkbus, you don’t need a car to go camping or hiking in Algonquin—you just hop on the bus. It’ll take you and your gear to one of several campgrounds, outfitters and trails within the park.
The bus, which made its first Ottawa-Algonquin Park run in June, will be leaving from the Rideau Centre and Mountain Equipment Coop on Friday, August 9 (returning August 11), and again on September 20 (returning Sept. 22), 2013.
The aim of Parkbus, a non-profit service, is to provide a way for people to get out into nature in Ontario’s provincial and national parks. I had a really bad trip with parkbus in August. The volunteer was unprepared, and not too responsible. Basically, there was a problem with turning the bus around in Algonquin park to pick up a late passenger. consequently, bus was late coming into Ottawa. Dislike paying a paypal fee for the service.
