Why cats never became man’s best friend

Ah, yes. “…retain their night-vision abilities .” Our cats like to hunt and chase random objects in the middle of the night – usually back and forth in the master bedroom. One likes to stretch up against a wall and scrape her claws down, down, down. Imagine the days of the chalkboards and the teacher scraping her fingernails across it to get students’ attention.

I’m their best friend in the early morning as I stumble into the kitchen, often serving their breakfast buffet before preparing my first cuppa instant coffee.

I do not know how well they would do on their own.
